She was highly likely knocked up by a CRS, hope she keeps the eggs. I found this while moving my tanks on the third floor to my basement. Didn't think they are old enough to breed yet. A few more females are as big as this one so hopefully to see more soon.
Why do you think it mated with the crs ? were there no OEBT males - in the time that i had 80+ OEBT in the 100+ CRS CBS tanks - never did find anything weird come off it - so was wondering if the OEBT's do actually x breed with OEBTs?
ReplyDelete"OEBT's do actually x breed with OEBTs?" should have read OEBT's with CRS - CBS's :)
DeleteRicky, that female kicked the eggs a few days later. I'm pretty sure it was with a male CRS now because I then had a few more female OEBTs berried and the egg colour is very different, not like the bright yellow in the picture.
ReplyDeleteThere were other male OEBTs in the tank but this particular female was bigger and they just turned adults, while there were 10+ very matured male CRS in the tank.
I was told that the offsprings from OEBT x CRS can sometimes be hard to tell. I think you probably had some cross but like this one, the eggs were kicked, likely due to the crossed eggs are harder to keep.
My next project is OEBT x OE black tiger. I'll keep everyone posted here.
