Some new PRL that came in

I have a shrimp breeder friend who contribute about 10 tanks for this line to supply me. He would select the SSS pattern ones with good colouration and keep them aside for me and export the rest to Japan (lucky Canadian shrimpers).

This line has pretty good colouration, however as a note of warning, the line is not very stable yet. They would produce all patterns (S/SS/SSS) of babies, although most will have the same quality on colouration.

The CRS from Ricky

Ricky is a very good friend of mine, he blown my view on CRS keeping/breeding the first time I went to see his shrimps.

I got 15 of his shrimps in a section of a divided 20G tank in November last year. In the first three months I didn't use a heater so the temperature was at around 17C (low 60F) and breeding was none existence. Then I turned on the heater to 22 degree (70F), and the breeding started.

I was moving this tank to the shrimp room last weekend and my wife helped me relocating all 380 of them. She got a sore back afterward but she really enjoyed see all the little lives in the tank.

Mid Grade CRS

Really happy to see the quality of these CRS I recently obtained. For the price I paid for them, I think it's a steal.

Testing MK-Breed White Crystal Shrimp Food

This food contains higher plant protein to promote shrimp growth and ovary maturity. Speeding up shrimp growth and reproduction are the focus of using this food.

Randy's Line

Need to give this line a name. It's not pure red line but I really like the quality. I have two non-PRL lines going for this, this is the higher grade ones. I'll name it Randy's Line - Mosura X

And this is the second line, I'll name it Randy's Line - Mosura A

The main difference is that the  first one I don't introduce golden, they will be line bred to get even better colouration.

The Mosura A line is from lower grade and crossed with golden. The quality is still not bad, you should see them in person to compare.

Also, I have two other pure line going on CRS as well, and you can see why I need to build a 20 tank shrimp room on top of the 15 I already have ;-) (I will transfer some existing tanks to the new shrimp room but not all).

Crystal White Shrimp

From pictures on internet, they look like snowwhite. But after I see them in person, they do look more like crystal red shrimp with all colour removed. You can see what would be the red no-entry marking on the back except it's like white. The best description is an albino CRS.

First CRS babies

I got home after work yesterday and found two surprises. One was that my Golden Apple snails laid some egges on the tank wall above water where I laid a piece of glass on top, counted about 20-30 eggs.

Secondly, I got some CRS from Ricky on March 29 and found  one berried female two days later. I thought it should be any day now and I was so happy to find one CRS baby (I was looking for one). Didn't have time to try to find more because I had a church small group meeting in the evening. Came home fro church and I could see 4 to 5 in sight, I're sure there are more as even they are right in front of me I can hardly see them if they don't move.

Baby CRS are very different from baby Neos in that they hatched as small miniature CRS with colour, where as Neo babies hatched colourless and won't develop any colour until 10 to 14 days old, and colouration gradually develops.

Anyway... so happy Thanks God for these baby shrimps. There are 3 or 4 berried females in the tank and one or two of them should release in the next few days.
